HW 02/27B: COPY the chart on page 287 as you see it, putting emphasis on the ENDINGS and LONG MARKS.

Friday, Feb 28 Unit IX: Lesson XL – 4th Declension

AGITE NUNC: OPEN textbook to page 288 and CAREFULLY LOOK at the genitive singulars of each noun. LIST as many the nouns that belong to the 4th declension.
DISCUSS and CHECK the HW 02/27A and B
CW 02/28: COPY then LOOK UP and WRITE OUT the genitive singular for each noun. Then, INDICATE the declension for each (2nd, 3rd, or 4th): 1) manus 2) fluctus 3) virtus 4) oculus 5) salus 6) focus 7) senatus 8) populus
(OBJECTIVE: To distinguish between the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th delcensions by looking closing at the genitive singular of the noun; To understand that we determine the declension of a noun strictly by the genitive singular ending.)
