OBJECTIVE: Through your own research and listening to your classmates’ presentations, you will 1) learn the basic facts about Julius Caesar and 2) understand how Caesar affected many people and various aspects of the Roman world.
You will research and then present to the class using PowerPoint or Google Drive the following information on the PERSON, PLACE, or POLITICAL POSITION that is highlighted below.
a. If a person or group of people
- Full Roman Name, Place of Birth, Year of Birth, Year of Death
- Basic Family History (Father? Wealthy? Poor? Political views?)
- Chronological Outline of relation to Caesar in 10-20 sentences.
- 1 Relevant Picture/Image per slide
b. If place(s)
- Ancient Roman Name and Modern Name
- 1 Relevant Picture/Image per slide (one of which must be an ANCIENT Roman Map of the Area)
- Explain location in relation to Ancient Rome – e.g., distance from Rome, geographical orientation from Rome (south, north, etc.)
- Date(s) of Caesar’s involvement in the Area
- Explain relation to Caesar in 10-20 sentences.
c. If politics, provide the following for each role
- Roman Names of position if appropriate
- Typical responsibilities for this position
- Date(s) of Caesar’s involvement
- Chronological Outline of how Caesar carried out the position in 10-20 sentences.
- 1 Relevant Picture/Image per slide
