- Identify the instructor’s “Ground Rules”
- Collaboratively develop additional “Ground Rules” based on two questions: a) Why are you here? and b) What is necessary in order for you to accomplish your goals?
Day 1 Part 2 – July 2
Objective:
By the end of this activity, students will:
- Know the terms: OGLR, “Read, Comment, and Study,” “Prepare to Share,” “Research”
- Know my email address and website
- Know the summer’s overarching essential question
- Learn the basic history and evolution of Latin
At Home
Read, Comment, and Study: OGLR Ch 1
– Be sure to write down password, visit my website and go to the appropriate page for your section, read the guidelines carefully, and post a comment about the reading by the deadline indicated.
Prepare to Share: State, University, and National Mottos in Latin
– Research the Latin Motto assigned to you. Prepare to share the following:
~ the actual Latin motto
~ its translation into English
~ and its vocabulary (i.e., what does each word mean) and
~ its origin (i.e., how does the motto relate to ancient culture/literature).
Latin is not a dead language because some country speak Latin and we take a stat we going to find some Latin word in it Latin is a language of education.
